About Carl

Carl Ward is a native of the San Francisco Bay Area. He began his artistic career in the mid 1990's. He was educated in the medium of figure and architectural design, photography and graphic arts at CCAC (California College of Arts and Crafts) and Brooks Institute of Photography. His subjects cover a wide range from portraiture to landscape, seascape and graphic arts composition.

His photographic observations, unique ability and active imagination result in many creative styles. There is a natural geometric composition and form to his work that captures the viewers attention and naturally draws your eye to his intended subject. Surrealism and impressionism are often depicted in the semi - abstract patterns of Carl’s graphic photography.

Portraits, landscapes and seascapes generate soft, tasteful colors and add an unforced structure to his compositions.

Carl creates beauty in a personal way that places an unmistakable stamp on his work. The art of cubism and the impressionist periods mid 1800's - 1940's have been a great influence in Carl Ward's career as an artist and photographer.

Please enjoy Carl Ward’s contributions to the world of vision and light.
